Ideas to get you started with your friends and family

Communicate your concerns with your friends and family about climate change in a sensitive and non aggressive way.
Many people are simply not able to cope with the reality of the climate emergency we are living with. They prefer to live their lives as normal, not giving it the focus that it deserves. Instead of being combative and forcing them to see the truth about how little time we have left, there are more productive ways to get people to listen. The more people we can reach about the climate emergency, the more power we have to make changes, and the more likely we will succeed in enacting the necessary changes. So let's do it right.
The David Suzuki Foundation has an excellent tool based on the image here, that teaches you how to speak to people about the climate. It's called the CliMate Bot and you can chat with it on fb messenger to practice your skills. Check it out here.
Once you brush up your skills with CliMate, make a plan to approach 1 friend or family member a week. Aim to get people talking and thinking about what they can do. Once you've got several friends on board, consider hosting a climate party at your house.
